@WW1photos_org I got this from a relative this week, think is Black Watch. Not sure which year. I think my GG Uncle James Hastie is poss in it, sitting 2nd from right in front row. In the 2nd picture taken in 1917 he is sitting on the chair with his brother Henry (HLI) behind.
@museumbw hello, i got this from a relative this week, I'm not sure which year it was taken. I think my gg Uncle James Hastie is possibly in it, sitting 2nd from right in front row. In the 2nd picture taken in 1917 he is sitting on the chair with his brother Henry (HLI) behind.
@Newbattleatwar John, a relative gave me this photo today and I thought it might interest you. My GG uncle James Hastie is named on the back and I think he's possibly 2nd from right in front row. In the 2nd photo, taken in 1917, hes sitting on the right.
@postcard13 there's 2 chairs inside the chancel dedicated to the memory of my granddads cousin James Rutherford by his regiment. He was killed in a road accident while serving with the Royal Pakistan signal corps. He's the tall man in the middle. 3rd is him at leuchars school in the 20s
@willpenrievans @DerbyLoco spent sat night listening and discussing farming history and photos at a "bothy night" at the local hall. 1st is granddad in 30s, 2nd as a child in the 20s with his dad, brother and workers, 3rd is him and his mum at the tatties. Got quite a few like 4th handed down, bothy lads.
@SirWilliamD After my grandad's cousin died recently I inherited her photo collection. She is the little girl in the last photo with her mouth open at a garden party in the 20s. I wish I had known about them and asked more questions before.
@SirWilliamD My grandad's brother left Scotland for NZ in the 20s. His grandchildren asked why I thought he left, I said to look at photos of farming from then and see the long hours and back breaking work that it was. Photos are a invaluable link to the past for me,these are from a bit later
@classicrider They carried everything on that rudge. They also went touring on a zundapp bella that he sold on to my dad. They also had a bike and sidecar but no idea what. My favourite photos, Dad and his Norton with his pals. my uncle, the wee boy cleaning it says it was a 600.
@classicrider came across another photo of the rudge that I thought you might like.On back of douglas is granddads cousin, born in 1921. 3rd is mums cousin, almost 90, losing his memory but can still remember his bike. 4th from granddads pals collection, afraid I've no idea who or what bike.
@classicrider Thought you might like to see these, found them in a pile of photos a couple of weeks ago. Man in white shirt in first photo is my grandad's pal. Reckon from their ages here it's the thirties.
