We still have two months to go in 2020, but these are the three best graphic novels I've read so far this year: @geneluenyang's DRAGON HOOPS, @DerfBackderf's KENT STATE and @Trungles's THE MAGIC FISH.
What about you...?
I just noticed this today; is Jonathan Kent "The New Man of Steal" because of some in-story reason, or is that just a very embarassing typo...?
Interesting Jack Kirby cameo, in a comic in which one of his many creations (Darkeseid) engages in a drinking contest with a character that appeared in a comic starring ANOTHER of his many creations (Baytor, from the '90s volume of THE DEMON)...
As much as I love this first appearance of Batman sitting in a tree that Leonardo Manco drew in his story w/ @saladinahmed in DC THE DOOMED AND THE DAMNED, my absolute favorite parts of the story are the bat design themes on Batman's various tools.
This book is amazing, by the way. In addition to Breyfogle art, it also has contributions by both Garth Ennis and John McCrea, both on different stories
Please don't be a grim-and-gritty G'Nort please don't be a grim-and-gritty G'Nort please don't be a grim-and-gritty G'Nort
That's the issue that introduced Cornelius Stirk, a heart-eating serial killer with the psionic ability to disguise himself, so he could appear as, say, Lincoln or Jesus.
Kinda surprised he never caught on in the way other Breyfogle/Grant (and sometimes Wagner) villains did...
BTW, this is probably my favorite Grandmama scene in @PenelopeB's THE WITCHES:
Hey, Marvel fans; anyone know who or what these neat-looking green things are, and where they originally come from...? These panels are from IDW's MARVEL ACTION: AVENGERS comic, and they're drawn by @JonSommariva:
Look, I don't know what the audience would be for a 21st century (i.e. less racist) comic book reimagining of 1943 serial THE BATMAN by drawn by Lee Bermejo might be, but after seeing this TEC #1027 pin-up, I'm pretty sure I'm in that audience.
