Serious questions about BATMAN #70:

1.) Is this supposed to be Maxie Zeus?

2.) Why on Earth is there no reference anywhere to the poetry he recites throughout...? It's made clear he's quoting, but the comic itself never shares who or what with the reader.

Maybe the most important thing you need to know about ASTER AND... is that it contains a group of characters named the Chestnut Knights, who are little knights that grow from chestnuts, and they make faces like this:

This panel actually kinda blew my mind. The Masked Marauder's costume appears to be the inspiration for Spoiler's costume. Hers is just more fitted, had a few more accessories, and started out more fuchsia than purple...

With so much unexpected free time, I finally started to make a dent in my to-read pile...s, one of which is a bunch of un-read TRUE BELIEVERS, like this one reprinting Tom DeFalco, Mark Amrstrong and Joe Albelo's PETER PORKER: THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-HAM #1.

I finished reading @johngreenart's INVESTIGATORS a few hours ago, and it only just now occurred to me that its protagonists' names Mango and Brash rhyme with the names of another pair of crime-fighters.

I really enjoyed BATMAN: OVERDRIVE, and I now feel a little guilty about the fact that, when it was announced, my initial thought was the bit in TEEN TITANS GO! TO THE MOVIES where we see a trailer for BATMOBILE: THE MOVIE ("Coming Vroom").

I love the action line in that bottom panel, showing Lois immediately, dramatically ignoring the directions she was just given and going where she knows she's NOT supposed to go, because that's where the story is. It's her version of leaping-tall-buildings-in-a-single-bound.

From a certain angle, larval Battra looks like Mothra cosplaying as Kaiser Wilhelm.
