I just stumbled across a tpb of @boomstudios' GARFIELD: HOMECOMING the other day, and I can't get over these radical reinventions of Jim Davis' character by (clockwise) @Charapoo, @shelligator and @bradenlamb, @GenevieveFT and @bensears

It didn't occur to me until today, but I somehow manged to have never read ANY of these villain-specific prestige format specials, released in 1992 and 1995 to coincide with BATMAN RETURNS and BATMAN FOREVER:

I get a strong Royalton-from-SPEED RACER vibe from the head alien in charge in some scenes...

Maybe it's just me, but it seems that the more new Green Lanterns that get introduced over the decades, the cooler and cooler Alan Scott's costume looks by comparison.

@DCComics @gabrielhardman @RamonVillalobos This presents me with another occasion to recommend 1996's TOTAL JUSTICE, an in-continuity mini from the pre-dawn of the Morrison/Porter era, written by Christopher Priest and featuring weird, inconsistent art from the likes of Denys Cowan, Vince Giarrano and Ramon Bernado.

How far behind am I on reviewing "new" comics for my personal blog, Every Day Is Like Wednesday...? Well, I'm currently re-reading @DCComics's 2019 holiday special so I can write about it. So a good two months. I'll probably share some images and random thoughts while writing.
