Here's a sequence from JUSTICE LEAGUE #38 by Scott Snyder, Jorge Jimenez, et al that I didn't like, and not JUST because of the ultraviolence (call me crazy, but I think @DCComics' flagship team title should be one you could hand a kid, as opposed to being "T+").

Let me explain.

@GerryDuggan @juaneferreyra @juaneferreyra does that thing I really like too, wherein sound effects are worked directly into the art of a particular panel.

@Ssnyder1835 @JorgeJimenezArt The best part comes on page 5, though, which is one half of a spread depicting the gathered heroes charging into battle.

Specifically, the expression @JorgeJimenezArt gives Guy Gardner. If there's a better single-image distillation of the character, I don't think I've seen it.

GODZILLA VS BIOLLANTE has a lot of gorgeous, almost feverishly fantastical imagery, much of it involving the new monster. That's coupled with ineffective human drama and heavy messaging about how humanity is the real monster and bio-weaponry is bad and... whatever this means:

tfw you can't tell if the monsters are making out or fighting

If people who wear sunglasses inside tend to be a-holes, then this guy wearing sunglasses in a smokey underground tunnel at night may just be the most evil person who ever lived:

Having now read all three of these, I think it's safe to say that Episodes VII-IX had the lousiest group of villains.
