#XSpoilers This week’s issue of X-Men shows that Charles and Erik aren’t your traditional “good guys” The X-Men as a whole aren’t you’re traditional good or evil anymore. They’re trying to ensure survival& that means possibly having to do things that are unpopular. Poor Raven...
And finally, to end my Ed McGuinness appreciation thread, I’ll throw some pages from Avengers: X-Sanction (another Loeb/McGuniess joint effort) that features two of my favorite characters, and two characters I think he does some of his best with
@Burn0321: once again... more Cap
Some more Ed McGuinness Amazing X-Men pages & covers, and then a cover with Wolverine/AOA Kurt from X-Termination #1 (19/)
Now we are at the point where I gush about McGuinness’ X-Men. He draws one of my favorite takes on Wolverine, Nightcrawler, and Cable (as seen in Amazing X-Men, and Avengers: X-Sanction). So I’ll once again just post some random pages & non X-Covers out of order/context (18/)
And finally... here’s some of the final Rulk/Hulk main event. Trust me, go back and do a quick re-read of the Loeb era of Hulk. It’s SO MUCH FUN, and the art from some of the best living artists is a big reason why this big, dumb, stupid, bombastic comic works (17/)
Oh and shit got even crazier with Fall Of Hulks & World War Hulks, I mean... just look at this stuff. The next few tweets are presented without comment other than nobody could pull this off quite like McGuinness did (15/)
and would win! People used to get so upset at how “bad” the comic was, but you had McGuinness (with some beautiful Art Adams & Frank Cho issues interspersed) drawing massive battles. Looking back... what’s not to love? He EVEN STOLE SILVER SURFER’S BOARD (14/)
Speaking of crazy... McGuinness and Loeb would team again on the infamous original Red Hulk run of Hulk. The series reads much, much better with the benefit of time and hindsight. It was absolutely bananas, and such a fun read these days. Rulk fought pretty much everyone (13/)
