I’m all in with Strange Academy. That was a really good intro to these new characters, and the fact that one of them is named Doyle Dormammu just makes it that much better.

Hot Take: I love how you can come to appreciate and even love bad comics for how bad they are with the benefit of time. I mean, come on, outside of the use of the one word I attempted to cover up, this shit is HILARIOUS and so entertaining to look back at 15 years later

I read the first issue of Jimmy Olsen when it came out and just fell behind. I started over, and working my way through it. No overall thoughts quite yet, but just wanted to point out that this panel is the best

Agreed! I thought this exchange between Reed & Sue sums it up in a very succinct way. They aren’t heroes, they’re a nation

Steve Rogers is awesome, & I loved the entire look of the Avengers out in space. Natasha in her own War Machine armor, Blade WEARING Boy-Thing, Brood-Thor, the continued use of thought balloons that makes Jen stand out, the new Starbrand, & “Swords vs. Boards In Space”

The comic was Joe Keatinge throwing everything he loved about crazy comics into one series. Hell Yeah was balls to the wall every issue with crazy action, and a ridiculous alternate universe story. Then it completely changed gears & went to Mars!

Every so often I re-read Hell Yeah, & I get bummed out all over again when I get to the last issue. I guess it didn’t sell well enough to continue and was pulled one issue into the 2nd arc after the first arc ended with a 5 year time jump & major changes to the status quo *sigh*

in just the first issue alone. I wonder if anybody at WB has ever just dropped this first issue off with an exec and told them to just read the issue like it’s a pilot. It would work so well from first page to last... I can picture the final scene of the pilot matching the comic

In a world where L&O SVU runs for 20+ years and the superhero genre is the biggest around it’s borderline malpractice that WB hasn’t attempted to do a Manhunter show. Make it a weekly procedural with the underlying story being about Kate’s personal life. So much potential

This part in particular feels like it is Hickman summing up his entire run so far
