A few issues later Kirkman did an issue titled “1991” that featured Jubilee, Wolverine, and Cable. Jubilee disguised in an oversized Hydra uniform is great.

Peter originally thought Mark was Nova in a new costume 😂. Then Kirkman does a GREAT job in organically catching readers up with Invincible. They even had an editor footnote to check out a comic published by another company. Finally, some good back & forth about “Spider-Man”

Finally, this is the page from New Mutants #9 that I fell asleep reading the other night. I just hit a wall b/c of my autoimmune flare, woke up with my glasses in my hand, iPad on my chest. I had nightmares where this page crept into my dreams 🤣

Issue #33 was an all villains issue with two @seanpphillips stories, one with Blob and the other with Magneto, to go with some other absolutely beautiful stories that had a less mainstream approach

X-Men Unlimited #32 had Jill Thompson drawing a Dazzler “Behind The Music” story, Jon Ostrander writing Starjammers, and @mikedeodato drawing a solid story about Nightcrawler’s faith!

Issue #35 is a good example of the series living up to its potential as a place for good talent to tell short X-stories. In just this one issue you had David Finch’s first Marvel work, a @jpalmiotti @AmandaRantsAlot Rogue/Wolverine story & @GailSimone teaming with @maguirekevin!!

I’m all in with Strange Academy. That was a really good intro to these new characters, and the fact that one of them is named Doyle Dormammu just makes it that much better.

Hot Take: I love how you can come to appreciate and even love bad comics for how bad they are with the benefit of time. I mean, come on, outside of the use of the one word I attempted to cover up, this shit is HILARIOUS and so entertaining to look back at 15 years later
