@PaulieHughes @nesdoug2 An unfinished build of the Genesis version (and some art for the SNES version) floated onto the internet a couple of years ago, alongside a bit of history of the project. https://t.co/UiStHSlTCw
Would love to see that design doc, flesh out some more of this game's lost history!
Today, thanks to @CuttingRoomWiki, I learned that near the end of the CD-i's life, they tried to make FPSes a thing on it (with online play, even!)
Emphasis on "tried" - it's hard to make such a computationally tricky task work on a system that can only play one sound at a time.
@slipcase_ Also here are the original screencaptures not shoved into a GIF mutated by Twitter into a video:
Just learned that #StarWars Dark Forces just received its first custom level in THIRTEEN YEARS. That's quite the drought to break. https://t.co/fpu5QN1ndB
Why didn't anyone tell me that the zombies in Last Rites had a dedicated "WOE! PLAGUE BE UPON YE!!" attack animation?
Bonus: The PC-98 version. 16 colours, but twice the pixel resolution!
I'd check the X68000 version as well for Japanese PC Completion's Sake, but they included the copy-protection and answering those questions when you don't read the language is a TAD difficult.
if your cheat mode isn't wrapped in reams of pointless lore text i don't wanna know you
