Disaplying Great Bustard. Watercolour on paper. I've limited my palette extremely down only to 2 colours: cobalt blue and vermilion. It was interesting to see that this was enough to capture this dawn scene.

Display postures of some Bird of Paradise species. I did these for various projects, it was interesting to explore the various shapes, extravagant feather tracts of them. All watercolour and gouache on paper, except for the Raggiana BOP painting at the bottom, that is in oils.

It was Plover Appreciation Day yesterday. Shorebirds are my absolute favourite, Plovers are an incredible group amoung them. Here are some of my Plover illustration from the past 10 years (Dotterels are called Plovers in Hungarian, so I've included them).

I'm not much a fish-painter, but sometimes get commission to paint certain species, like this recent Common Dace on the upper left corner. Put a few more I've painted over the past 15 years.

I've illustrated the birds of paradise for the New Guinea field guide (except for the crow-like Manucodes). I made a montage of all the males (proportionally scaled). This is the most incredible bird group, have seen a few species, hope for more.

Just finished this Wallcreeper illustration on the left. The summer male on the top right is from 2005, and the rock scene below is from 2010.

My companions were not artists, so I had very limited chance for sketching, these are all I could do of one of our Lion sightings.
