Not to say there is no subtext here, but...
2 things. #IDWSonic
@OnyxCrimsonBlur @awesome_red It doesn't make sense to be a side eye, because he would be sideyeing his own comments. At best its a poorly written joke that undermines the whole point of the Tinker plot.
Can someone explain the appeal of something like this?
This arc has been nothing but misery porn for 17 issues so it's on brand but...
What is the appeal of characters being idiots, getting infected and just having everything go wrong?

@Zhane_Star @SteperLongEarth Tbh, let Amy be a genki girl that learns like the ones like her. Energetic, fun, and open about how she feels. The best at cheering people up, but has problems with bonderies and sometimes thinking from other perspectives.
Being "independent" isn't a step forward, its a dead end
Especially since she mainly leads background characters. Leadership stories work at their best when it's about the character and their relationship to their followers. Amy mainly leads background characters and no names, so her relationships aren't going to be in focus.
While her past characterization could be annoying, her leadership skills don't show anything new. She doesn't have a particular leadership style, not shown to be a strategist or has any major goals as a leader.
Her past characterization can be explored and challenged, this can't
