discussing a couple of books in today's creative writing class for tween & teens: The Last Shadow Warrior by @sjsubity and Iron Widow by @XiranJayZhao.

Did a school visit this afternoon where I led students in designing crests for magical schools, then writing acceptance letters to those schools.
Looking forward to see what they produce! Here's the crest I designed for the school in Spell Sweeper.

Putting together all the supply kits for an upcoming workshop in the series I'm doing for the @vsb39 Gifted Learning Program.

We're writing fantasy-adventure stories and, along the way, their heroes will discover magical help in the form of a spell or two.

#MGBooktober Day 29 ~ I don't have the time to binge series anymore, as I'm always on the lookout for new books for my students. But when I was a kid, I binged them all the time, especially Narnia.

#MGBooktober Day 22 ~ It has such great visuals, I'd love to see Witch Hat Aterlier get a film! I think animation is the way to go for this one, since art is the source of magic. Don't ask me about casting, though!
