probably reading too much into it but i think it's interesting that by champions (2019) #1, riri hasn't actually said that she doesn't want to kiss viv or that she doesn't reciprocate viv's feelings. she just pushes viv away

love love love the visual motif of viv phasing thru riri's armor. and then in weirdworld when she /becomes/ that armor???? chef's kiss

with perez's starfire, the orange skin supports the coding of starfire as a woman of color. but give her straight hair, a narrow pointy nose, and thin lips, and the orange skin no longer evokes a woman of color's skin tone. she just looks like an orange alien
