Retrogaming of the 8 and 16 bit variety. That's my jam. 😎

Had a bit more of a play around with the variants of Tapper yesterday. The Budweiser and Suntory ones look like a simple logo-swap in all the expected places, and a minor change of text in the bonus stage to "this Bud's for you." Nothing other differences as far as I could tell.

Played it .. beat it ..
(Also gave up in a near rage many *many* times.)

What's that you say?
Live *more* in the past?
Okay!

It was the start of that brilliant Carver game-of-mini-games style. 👍

Yeah. Same here.
It seems there were three (?) versions at the arcade: Suntory, Budweiser, and Root Beer (for places where they didn't want to promote an alcoholic brand to impressionable young kids.) 😁 But, to this day, I never saw it in the arcades, so don't have a preference.

I was just playing the Suntory version in MAME a couple of days ago. 👍 I'd love to see a proper arcade unit, and see what the controls are like with those beer-pull thingys.. 😁

Great wee game. 👍
I was severely addicted to it in the arcades, as a kid. 😁

Naturally, the C64 version looks a little more basic, with its lower-res sprites. But they managed to put a lot of character into all the people, and absolutely everything of the gameplay of the arcade has been ported over.. and it's just really playable. 👍

Played some Tapper the other day (MAME).
It's a cool game, but I played the C64 version for so so many years, that I still prefer that one. 😁 But it's nice to see those extra little flourishes the arcade version has, such as the bit with the beer glass at the end of the level.

Enigma Force is great.
Beyond really worked out a good icon interface, so you could play a whole squad-based game with lots of inventory manipulation. But it's an odd enough game that I don't think many people got into it. ..Lots of cool exploration/discovery in this. 👍
