Love that my garden in #Hayonwye is full of these #Orange-tip #butterflies since I planted their host plants; Dames violet, #Garlic mustard and #ladies smock. Only the males have these tips, females have black wingtips. Illustrations done for @FSCPublications and @WildlifeTrusts

On Thursday to celebrate the start of @hayfestival I'll be walking (& #foraging) with @hedgerowguru and local school kids from #HayonWye, (& other authors & #illustrators involved) to finish the amazing #BaytoHay walk that's been happening across Wales @theaoi

Had a lush day #talking & #foraging with lovely @stjpenarth kids doing some of the Bay to #Hay walk, organised by @hayfestival. We found #dor dung #beetles, got lost in the clouds above #longtown & ate wood and common #sorrel, #pennywort, & #garlicmustard. Wonderful!

@JackieMorrisArt @hayfestival Oh I know!Sleeping takes time too, and then it's all pretty dreadful if you burn the midnight oil and avoid sleeping.I used to be good at pulling all-nighters, alas no longer. I get bleary, bad tempered and worst of all my painting gets sloppy! And yes, we need time to read too!
