To Horus, seeing Seth felt unreal, and there was a distance between them that made Seth seem untouchable. Whilst to Anubis, it was a common, casual experience; the difference in their childhoods is so saddening- Horus grew up in poverty, and Anubis has now lost all that he had.
This scene gives me so much second hand embarrassment...(〃ー〃) I KNOW that Horus did cheat, but it's so awkward that Seth made such bold claims only for them to be 100% false in the eyes of the court. Plus, if he waited, Maat might've been able to prove his point, but oh well.
It breaks my heart to see that Anubis used to be able to just... pull off Seth's headpiece and that Seth MADE one out of sand for him, despite all the connotations of it.இ‸இ Nothing is too good for his son in his eyes, not even an accessory that represents a god's pride!
ENNEAD season 2 spoilers//
So much has happened in the last few chapters, but seeing him make such Seth-typical expressions makes me happy. Seth's suffered so much, but he's got a fighting spirit and character that always bounces back! He will never go down easily! (ง •̀_•́)ง
Seth's impulsive reaction to Anubis being held hostage in the 3rd trial may be due to how tired he is of others taking advantage of his love for his son. But nonetheless, Anubis' life will always matter, and Seth will fall for tricks as many times as it takes to keep him safe.😢
Can you believe that the man on the left is the god of war, desert, commander of countless war campaigns, whilst the man of the right is a demi-god, the youngest of his family, and head over heels for the aforementioned god of war? Yeah, as if!
But somehow it's true. (つx・。`*)
Another ENNEAD reread made me realise that Seth shows affection by giving out loving holds/pats on the head. It's why Anubis gets so emotional when Isis hugs him- he's not only receiving love for the first time in so long, but it's in the exact way Seth used to show it to him.
Horus is really just so sweet, he's so quick to act and instinctually takes care of his loved ones when they need help, and the way he cradles both Isis and Seth looks so comforting!
(I want one too! Horus, give me a hug!!! (づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ)
You can tell Seth was MADE to be the god of war with how even as a mortal that lacks powers, his first reaction to any annoyance is to absolutely decimate said source of frustration.
(But I guess that's just what happens when you fight battles for thousands of years.(;^ω^))
Seth is shown to be such a touchy person in the past, and was always physically affectionate Nephthys whenever they were together. But yesterday he was holding onto her out of desperation and being utterly terrified rather than love, and the contrast HURTS.
