ENNEAD S2 SPOILERS//
While what Seth's been through is devastating, the composition of this chapter is outstanding. 😭 From the intertwining of Seth and Nephthys' opposite natures to Seth's desperation and fears, it's so gutwrenching, comforting, and fulfilling at the same time.
The writing for this scene is just STUNNING.(∗´ ᨔ `∗) Osiris has been BEATEN to the ground, but what hurts him is seeing Seth wounded, highlighting the extent of his obsession. Similarly, Seth has hurt himself over and over, but his desperation to escape overrides the pain.
Ra may be the sun god and incredibly strong but we all know that her TRUE power is that she's able to pacify Seth and stop him from complaining. But look at that stink-eye he gives her, and him storming off and saying he'll "let it [Horus' cheating] slide." 😭 He's such a kid!!
Sometimes I can't fathom that Horus just lay still after being thrown, held a conversation like that, and only got up to avoid being kicked. Similarly, he stands on Seth's hand even though Seth is VERY capable AND willing to crush him in that moment. (AND HE DOES!) ( ̄ー ̄;
Something that makes me absolutely ELATED is how wholeheartedly excited Seth gets when he's in combat. He must've loved being the god of war so much; he really was born for the battlefield!
It's really nice to see him happy and in his element once in a while! o(*´∇`)O
Here's to hoping that despite all the pain and suffering Seth's going through now, we'll one day see him go back to his old, playful, rambunctious self who whistles whilst kicking butt and waltzing into court and laughs at his own jokes!◦°˚\(*❛ ‿ ❛)/˚°◦ ♡♡
Horus is always the first person to react to Seth's impulsive tendencies and anger, and so often it's by trying to calm him down and for Seth's own benefit. I love this cool-headed, big hearted boy so much! When I see him be so mature I feel like a proud mom..... (≚ᄌ≚)♡♡♡
Even IN the moment of being hurt, Horus only thinks about Seth's well-being...(;へ:) They're literally mid-fight, standing in a sandstorm, Seth is strangling him, and still, the only thing on Horus' mind is to keep Seth safe. This scene will never not hit like a truck.
Horus talking about how he's the youngest and his "poor foundation" is such a blatant grab for Seth's sympathy, he wants to be babied by uncle so bad. 🥺 And yet, when Sekhmet points out his naivety he gets all pouty! So cute!!! (°꒳°) ♡
Nothing hurts more than thinking about how how when things were okay, Seth had dedicated so much time to teaching Anubis and raising him, and now those skills will be used against him as his son serves his worst enemy. Osiris, look at what you've done! (ꐦ°᷄д°᷅)
