I, uh, kinda like this design. Hm.
I don't think much about the characters for these because I don't plan on ever using them for anything else, but I couldn't help but imagine just how crazy, creepy (perverted) this character would be.

Yokaitober Day 19: Kappa

Kappa have never been my favorite youkai in the world. As I said with amabie, I'm not a fan of oceanic themes. However I still had fun with the prompt and I think it came out alright.

I wasn't sure what exactly to do with her. Should I make her a ghost? Silly? Spooky? I wasn't sure. Eventually, I settled with this. My note for her in my list was just 'paper yes'.

A paper lantern yokai. They are like other tsukumogami in that they mostly surprise people rather than harm them. In fact, they are very similar to kasa-obake.

A subrace of sorts of the rokurokubi. The nukekubi is comparable to the Irish dullahan. This is Adrian, a demon whose head comes off and a classic character of mine.

A girl with two mouths, untameable hair, and insatiable hunger. That's futakuchi-onna. This is Mauve, a girl who is often controlled by her parasitic hair to feed its hunger. She isn't exclusively this youkai though...
