Iris willed into existence around 2007, based wholly off of a Lass Trainer encountered in Mt. Moon in Pokémon FRLG of the same name. The look was cute and I wanted to try and adapt it into an actual character.

Ruby ended up with a lot of design revisions for both her main Magistra outfit and the spring dress she's seen with. Eventually it seeped into her physical appearance a little, where her hair was made darker and she was given an olive complexion - which looks great!

When ASD became freed from its FE8 fetters and moved to an original story, most of her background was modified and her friendship to Julie and Josh was emphasized. Their bond was meant to be the hard carry of the story... but she was still meant to die in the end. :(

Ruby started out as a Lyon expy when I was working on FE: A Sacred Dawn back in 2009 and had all of his hallmarks - fancy magician, best friend to the protags, vessel of the Demon King, built to die... She had it rough back then!
