@ChrisMasnaOk @Sketchy_raptor This is an interesting look! One thing to consider (according to Main et al. 2005) is the distribution of metaplastic bone on Stegosaurus plates. This probably gives us an indication of their depth within the skin, and it only covers the base, not the anterior/posterior regions.
New #paleoart at #Patreon: Tyrannosaurus vs. polar bear vs. Andrewsarchus vs. @Gizz47 vs. Beau the greyhound. Who wins? Depends on what the competition is. Full-res and discussion here: https://t.co/RvUyIF6XxX. Oh, and I guess this'll work for #FossilFriday, too!
Almost forgot that it's #FossilFriday. Here's some #paleoart of Pelagornis chilensis, which is one of my favourite paintings from 2018. I blogged about these amazing and gigantic fossil birds shortly after creating this image: https://t.co/1PBWmxOyyX
Cropped preview of a bigger #paleoart scene recently uploaded to #Patreon, featuring two Yutyrannus making something feel uneasy. Check out the rest of this image and heaps of other palaeo content for just $1 every month! https://t.co/7ZCiMy2k3x
Some Rhamphorhynchus #paleoart for #FossilFriday: Rhamporhynchus the greedy, Rhamphorhynchus the kleptoparasite, and Rhamphorhynchus the trackmaker (from 2016, 2018 and 2019).
New at #Patreon: a discussion of the Effigia #paleoart I created for @JordanBestwick1 and colleagues earlier this year. This was a really fun painting to work on (because Effigia is awesome) and we put a lot of thought into the anatomy and composition. https://t.co/9lhz7ZJB6w
New blog post! Ever wonder where all the 19th century sauropod #paleoart is? Me too. It turns out that there're lots of interesting reasons why it took us 50 years to start restoring these magnificent dinosaurs. (With Giraffatitan art cameo!)

FACT: sauropod reconstruction reached *perfection* with John A. Ryder's Camarasaurus reconstruction of 1877. Alas, I'm aware of no life reconstruction of this most excellent skeletal, so I've done my best to rectify that with some quick #paleoart.
Want a signed #paleoart print AND to help save the UK's only gull sanctuary? Head to the @charitybirdaid FB page to bid on my prints: all proceeds go to charity. Starting bids are £5 for each print. Theropods, pterosaurs, plesiosaurs and more up for sale! https://t.co/6jEXZ4VwVM
What the heck: one more #paleoart post because it's the weekend. Here's Pterodactylus walking along, showing how pterodactyloids held their limbs when on the ground. I really tucked the membranes in here: I wonder if we generally make them a little slack.
