One of my favourite Kitamura books is #WhenSheepCannotSleep I read it alongside Jane Doonan's #LookingAtPicturesInPicturebooks & both of them showed me how subtle, deep & clever picturebooks can be in affecting the way we see and feel things in art. #SatoshiKitamuraAppreciation

@librarymice I can't choose a favourite so here's a few. I' add that I am grateful to @BookIslandBooks for bringing beautiful, translated books here to the UK. I seem to be drawn to books that adults don't think children should read (or will like) but are well-loved in other countries...
