Dr Wily created Zero with the intention of besting Thomas Light's inventions and destroy Megaman for good.

Zero would then eventually become one of the pillars in leading Earth into it's Halcyon Days. Good job Wily.

Megaman is known to take inspiration from Astroboy, this is clearer in the original hairstyle he had in Megaman 1, which is only used in this game and referenced in a few pieces of promotional art that was done later. From Megaman 2 onwards he has the hairstyle we all know.

The Wily Capsule used as an assist trophy in SSBU is the one from MM7, this Wily Capsule is infamous for being one of the hardest versions of Wily due to the elemental orbs it shoots that can stun you and chip away your life. If you defeat him, Wily bows down to your dominance.
