I think these are my favourite @chrisriddell50 Observer cartoons of the year. The first around the tragic drownings in the channel with loss of children and family stops you in your tracks. The power of these first drawings is their sensitivity and humanity in preventable tragedy
Able to (at long last) see Dorothea Tanning Exhibition - Really enjoyed it - Hurry ends 9th June @Tate Modern - My favourites below. Door 84 (1984), Insomni(1957), Notes for an Apocalypse(1978) + Eine Kliene Nachtmusik(1943) Great range didn’t want to leave some of these images.
Current Henry Moore: The Helmet Heads Exhibition @WallaceMuseum sets out to juxtapose his sculptures with the armoury that inspired them (until 23 June) - Beautiful video https://t.co/seDIReLEOJ #art #sculpture #HenryMoore
Visit the excellent Burne-Jones Exhibition @tate Britain before 24/2 finish - Deep insight into his works working and relationships. Loved seeing ultimately uncompleted works of the fabulous Perseus Series together and his beautiful and intimate drawings. Incredible work ethic!
Henri Fuseli - #bornthisday 1721 Most recognised for “The Nightmare” This though a particular, and moving, favourite @WolvArtGallery - The Apotheosis of Penelope Boothby- Painted to commemorate her tragic death (Aged 5) Commissioned by her heart broken father Sir Brooke Boothby
Two for #DrawingAugust - Apple and Lemon - Sketchbook App Autodesk iphone7+ mainly coloured pencil “brush” - drawn with finger - surprisingly accurate (I think) when used with and without zoom. #art #digitalsketchbook #drawing
#HenryMoore sculptor born this day 1898 - His drawings equally remarkable #sculpture #art
Woman with Dead Child 1903 - Incredibly powerful and tangible sorrow and pain @The_RedList #Kollwitz #Art https://t.co/hKI1Vqzqaa
