@ksweeen You don't really start seeing "oh yeah, that's Shakespeare!Richard III" until the 19th century, and even here Edwin Booth seems to have gone in mainly for heavily indicated kyphosis.
@ksweeen David Garrick was painted in the role several times in the 18th century with nothing really suggested in his costume but high shoulders.

I recolored this drawing from around the time the Loki show premiered with virtual Copic markers and using the Marc Davis approach of getting real weird with the skin tone palette and it has really convinced me there might be hope for me, artwise
