Actually it might have been Pedro Cabral who taught that alongside Frank, but I think Liz was taking the workshop too. Here I tried to draw them. All the USk correspondents had a big dinner in Lisbon that night, it was a really fun trip. I really like Portugal, want to go back.
Also took a workshop in the afternoon with Nina Johansson (and Jose Louro?) called "Unfinished Business" which was really fun. I met and sketched Luis Ruiz (@luisrpadron) in person that day, I'd been a fan of his for years. #Lisbon
I also took a workshop this day in 2011 with Frank Ching and Liz Steel & learned a lot more about perspective than I knew before, stuff I teach others about now. Also learned a lot of perspective from Florian & Gerard on that trip, stuff I am still passing on.
Meanwhile on this day in 2011 I was in Lisbon for USk Symposium #2 and drawing fellow sketchers (here's Rolf, Cristina, Tia, and of course Florian; Lisbon will always make me think of Florian Afflerbach)
Nine years ago today, July 20 2011, I arrived in Lisbon for the second Urban Sketching Symposium, and explored a bit with @floodfish
On this day one year ago, July 20, I got off the plane in Paris and wandered about Montmartre. Wish I could be doing that this year!
And finally today's my mate @Macca_78 's birthday so hope he has a good one, here is a sketch of him (we were lightly inebriated) from a few years ago (when we were in Kentish Town with @paulheaston) . Happy birthday Vazquez!
On this day in 2011, I was in London and I drew my nephew Leo. 11 at the time and now a lot taller.
Eleven years ago today in 2009, I had lunch at the Silo and it was baking hot, and I drew these two. He was either very broad shouldered or hunched down.
Drew this ten years ago today from the stairwell of our building at UC Davis
