Instead of stuff I should be doing, I spent a few hours making this map for Wikipedia, of the four NBC radio networks in 1933.

Ok, this is the last one I think, as there are probably other things I'm supposed to be doing. Changed the tile & palette for crop/grassland, added Chicago. Thanks again to for the free tileset! https://t.co/2BKX8gr1wV

Some improvements. Now with grass, and better city symbols.

I came across a fun package of 1-bit game asset tiles by (https://t.co/2BKX8gr1wV) and decided to do a little mapping with it. I only used a fraction of the 1024 available tiles, so there's a lot more one could do with this.

I was working on this map for a client, and then I wondered what it might look like if I made it in 1940.

Messing around with animations in Blender.

Redid this with a little bit of bathymetry. Now you can see some of the trenches and bumps under the surface of Lake Superior. I like that you can see how Manitou Island, in the foreground, connects underwater to the Keweenaw Peninsula.

More oblique Blender practice. My goal was to feel not-incompetent, and I feel like I've made it there, so I think I may pause these efforts for now.

I'm no , but this is starting to come along. Some data alignment issues (for example, you can see the land's edge is sometimes made of water). But my goal was "figure this out well enough that I don't feel incompetent" and I'm starting to get there.

Accidental art suitable for the season: the blood waters of Alaska.

(I was in the middle of applying a gradient map, and apparently Photoshop decided to start with a red-black scheme by default).
