Who do you think built this edifice?
The Twilight Gate was imagined as a companion piece to The Waning Passage. I wanted to invert the setting of that piece, placing the cosmic environment within the portal and the landscape without, suggesting that each might lead to the other.

I was hoping to have my new piece finished by tonight, but I'm going to wait until tomorrow to post it. I am super, super happy with how it's coming together, and I can't wait to share it with you all! For now, here's a piece from deep in the vault: Vessel of Serenity.

Only 2 days until Gen Con Online! The Path Illumined was partly inspired by a scene from The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, where the talking mouse Reepicheep sails a little boat off the waterfall at the edge of the world into the unknown beyond.

The looming form of the subject, muted palette, and bizarre landscape reflected the fear and uncertainty I felt. I was a stranger in an alien world, confronted with a frightening unknown. This piece was both an outlet for those feelings and a constructive distraction from them.

I've found that the flavor of my work frequently corresponds to either my mood or my emotional needs at the time of its creation. I created World Engine in the midst of some health problems I experienced last year that left me very anxious and depressed.

Here are some more of the playmat designs I'll be debuting at Gen Con Online, which runs July 30-August 2. I'll be posting an actual picture of one of them soon--they turned out beautifully! Sign up for my mailing list to be notified the minute they go live!

Endless Paths is an older piece, but one I'm still really proud of. It came at the beginning of my 'swirls' phase, when I was leaning into automatic drawing and surrealism. The idea here was to have a portal emerging from the landscape, a sudden hole in the fabric of reality.

I think this one. There are some things going on in it that I feel like I haven't been able to replicate since.
