I extend the tail. Hooray! I'm done! I think. Then I look at it from above and realise I haven't given it any bulk. Right, onto that next...
Back onto the head, it's now got a pattern on the top and a mouth. The mouth is like the pocket on a pair of trousers - it's isolated from the outside wall to prevent z-fighting. I also highlighted the eye as I was working and thought it might look good in orange (it does).
@WestrayAudio @Alyx_Jones Thanks Ricky :~D
I'm a pixelartist and I specialise in lowrez. As you're looking to do a conversion of existing game characters, here's my cover of Dungeon of Flowers by @_RibbonBlack_

The mesh is actually deceptively simple! Simplifying a shape but keeping the details and silhouette is the real difficulty. The outlines of the dome are three layers of nestled inverted shells. Each metroid is 185 tris.

Some more behind-the-scenes and mesh work so you can understand more of the process behind this lowpoly venus flytrap. https://t.co/GA0HHQEMGB
