I was delighted to find an adult White-tailed Eagle this morning, the tags revealed that I last saw her in the nest on Lough Derg way back in 2014! Thanks to @KerryeagleMee for the details. Field sketch from June 2014 and photograph from this morning.
Some roughs of a large Corncrake commission for the soon to re-open Tory Island Hotel. I really can't wait to get back out again after a brief visit last month.
A recent water colour of the Goosanders that were regular visitors to the river in front of our apartment this winter. The golden water a reflection of the sunlit river bank behind.
I was delighted to find 6 snow buntings during the week feeding in the same location as last month, though with out the snow they were far less confiding. I completed this painting since the last encounter.
I completed this Wallcreeper illustration last year, but have only had it scanned recently. It was for a long time a dream bird of mine and I have been fortunate to see several in Asia and Europe.

Some more sketches of the Goosander that has been a sporadic visitor to the river in front of our apartment for almost 2 months now.
While working last week I was joined by 5 Snow Buntings that spent almost an hour quietly feeding beside me. It was -2 at the time and felt even colder with the breeze so I didn't last long enough with out my gloves to get any field sketching done, these were done from videos.
The Goosander appear to have moved on unfortunately. I haven't seen the male in over a week and the female or imm was last seen early monday morning. I doubt I will have such a stunning bird from the studio window again for a long time!
A pair of young King Eider have been present in a small bay close to Donegal town for a few weeks now. I was lucky to spend a little bit of time with them over two evenings.
