In the show, PallaPalla controls the Sailor Team using a rather bootleg-looking Sailor Moon doll. In the picture book, she has dolls of all the Sailors.

Episode 161 was supposed to feature the Amazon Quartet targeting an orphanage, but this idea was later dropped. The picture book incorporates it into its version of the episode.

GaraGara-Musume does basically nothing besides eating Momoko's Dream Mirror in the anime, but in the picture book, she uses her rattlers to perform a sonic attack. I suspect this was part of the original scenario.

In the episode, Moon and Chibi Moon try to attack Fish Eye with "Double Sailor Kick!" In the picture book, this maneuver is called "Supers Kick!" which may be an earlier name for it.

In the episode, Mars tricks Ayatoriko into trying to make a six-rung string ladder as a distraction. Originally, she was supposed to pretend to betray the others, as she does in the picture book.

This is the most trivial detail, but officially, Ayatoriko's name is written in hiragana (あやとり子). In the original scenario, it was written in katakana (アヤトリ子), which is how it's written in the picture book adaptation of episode 138 (minus the kanji 子)
