In the show, PallaPalla controls the Sailor Team using a rather bootleg-looking Sailor Moon doll. In the picture book, she has dolls of all the Sailors.

Episode 161 was supposed to feature the Amazon Quartet targeting an orphanage, but this idea was later dropped. The picture book incorporates it into its version of the episode.

GaraGara-Musume does basically nothing besides eating Momoko's Dream Mirror in the anime, but in the picture book, she uses her rattlers to perform a sonic attack. I suspect this was part of the original scenario.

In the picture book version of episode 150, the Dead Moon Circus puts on a very ordinary circus show compared to the utterly bizarre spectacle they give in the anime.

Though Tuxedo Mask conveniently shows up to assist during the fight scene, he's conspicuously absent from the end of the episode. The picture book includes Mamoru in the final scene.

In episode 144, Tiger's Eye makes Shingo plummet through a hole in his and Ami's rubber boat. Originally, he was supposed to deflate the boat, as he does in the picture book.

Mawashitaro summons a bunch of generic wooden horses in the anime, but he was originally supposed to conjure up a group of identical fake Pegasuses, as he does in the picture book.

In the episode, Moon and Chibi Moon try to attack Fish Eye with "Double Sailor Kick!" In the picture book, this maneuver is called "Supers Kick!" which may be an earlier name for it.

In the episode, Mars tricks Ayatoriko into trying to make a six-rung string ladder as a distraction. Originally, she was supposed to pretend to betray the others, as she does in the picture book.

This is the most trivial detail, but officially, Ayatoriko's name is written in hiragana (あやとり子). In the original scenario, it was written in katakana (アヤトリ子), which is how it's written in the picture book adaptation of episode 138 (minus the kanji 子)
