What sparks and what gets damaged over the kerbs?
Sparks are from titanium skid blocks used to protect the underside of the car. A large block is used in the most vulnerable point at the front of the plank.
There's also Ti skid blocks in the front wing

The FIA now have both the safety data recorder and the high speed camera recording to look at
The high speed camera by @MarelliTech runs at 400fps to record the driver's head movement during the crash
