Yesterday I happened on a big swath of trees that had been torn apart by December's tornado, and drew some of them.
I've started using small cards instead of my sketchbook for this kind of thing; not sure if I'll continue but I'll try it for a couple of weeks, see how I like it.

The only character left in this first OUTLAW'S APPRENTICE story whose design I haven't completely nailed down yet is the apprentice himself. I like each of these for different reasons, but will probably use the short tunic, as it'd allow poses to be presented with more clarity.
