Save points in Vapor Trails are compute shrines; supercomputer stacks scattered around the world.
You hack into them to meditate and run a predictive program, so when you "die" in-game it's just the simulation being pruned.
Then you wake up and proceed for real, again and again
a conservation society for the basic enemies you beat up at the beginning of the game
1. motion lines
2. a few anticipation frames (more = stronger attack)
3. exaggerated pose on the first frame the hitbox is out (also when the motion line is longest)
6. add a slash effect with a 3d-rotated LineRenderer

today I fixed a nasty problem I had been overlooking: if you hit enviro hazards, you're moved back to the last safe point. unfortunately, if the ground under that point is now somewhere ELSE, you're kinda screwed. not anymore though!
