Every year on this day, Japan celebrates Children's Day! You might know this special day by the hanging carp streamers outside homes and buildings. They are believed to bring good luck and fortune to the children in the homes!

Inugami (犬神) are a youkai found within wealthy families. They take the form of an ordinary dog to blend in with society, only showing their true form to their masters. The inugami serve their masters loyally, performing tasks at their masters bidding like a faithful dog. 🐕

Chōchin-Obake are bamboo lanterns made from paper and silk that have come to life. They have one eye and a large protruding tongue. Legend says that when a paper bamboo lantern, or a chochin has reached 100 years of service, they come to life as a youkai.

Oni (鬼) are Youkai from Japanese folklore and are one of the greatest icons of Japanese culture. They have sharp claws, long wild hair, red or blue skin and horns with incredible strength and are said to also be adapt in magic. 👹
