For my mother-in-law's birthday in Dec, she'd requested a map of Greece to hang on her new office wall. I enjoyed making it, and since I've been in a creative slump and really homesick, I just made one of Montana for myself. They would make cool decals.

He's done (or I got tired of painting) one of the rare mermen from Charlie's world.

His entire body is covered in scales, unlike females of the species. While they have some human intelligence, they're still predatory creatures.

I'm looking at my DAUGHTER OF DUST aesthetics & stuff, trying to talk myself into working on it.

I love this story but I feel I have to make it BETTER.

Since I've already done some rewrites since my betas looked at it, maybe I should consider getting some new eyes on it?

Here's my map and an aesthetic, which shows two sides to Charlie's world. All her life she thought she knew one side from the other, until the lines between black and white begin to blend, leaving her stuck in the middle.

I actually did a selfie piece a couple months ago!

Lantha is a country from one of my novels, located on the equator on the eastern hemisphere. I included the detailed country map.

The box north of that is the other area I wrote a story in. See how small they look on the whole world map?

Here's a piece of art I made for the story 🥰

3: I have the eyes and lips on their own layer.
The purple in her hair was a clipped layer with the 'color' blending mode. It let me change the color while keeping the different values!
And I finished the lightning here.

2: I always start with skin, so clip a new layer above your base. Now you can't color outside that boundary! Use a hard pressure brush and lower the brush opacity (40%) and flow (20%) and start shading with a warmer, darker color of skin tone.

1: Ok, so I have my lineart and my base colors first.
Lineart: Pick a dark reddish brown color and set the blending mode to multiply, drop the opacity down ~60%

Base: I made 3 different layers: skin color, the stone, and the rest. Your shading layers will CLIP onto these ones.
