*Forgot to specify that rival hair can't change colour in Splatoon 2, but the first game allows it to. In the first game, rival hair is always tinted red, because the alb map is slightly red. This was all changed in Splatoon 2.

Rival octolings don't have eyebrows on their body's model. Instead, the eyebrows are modeled on the hair. This is different from all the player models, which have eyebrows on the body.
(I wanted to post something small while I prepare for my three exams thirty minutes from now!)

In #Splatoon3's reveal trailer, we can see an inkling with a pinkish mouth despite having yellow ink. In previous games, inkling mouths always matched their ink colour.

People have told me that they find the transformation (internally named "hlf", meaning "half") models terrifying. Since they're so loved, here's all 6 in #Splatoon2!
Two of them are unused, and they each have some very weird eyes, which are either cute or creepy.

It's common knowledge that octolings can have up to eight limbs total, but did you know that rival octolings incorrectly have twelve limbs while transforming?

This issue is not present on the playable octoling model, which has eight limbs.

This is also shown in the Hero vs Villain Splatfest art, where we can see that Pearl is very emotional while smashing with Craig and the other idols, which is causing her special to activate!
