Not a huge surprise, but I'm a big sucker for quality pixel art!

The first and last games I worked on. Only counting commercial work. There were some earlier J2ME ones, but I don't think they were ever released.

I don't remember the cave folks being able to pick up (and throw?) random objects. Was that in Spelunky 1?

The other illustration I did for that Metagame deck was for another fave, Metal Gear Solid.

FLCL Alternative is still not perfect, it lacks some of the wild kinetic energy of the original and what neither sequel get right is Tsurumaki and the original team's amaaaazing framing and composition of EVERY... SINGLE... SHOT.

Food and flavour are stand ins for childishness and adulthood. FLCL Alternative understands the writing structure, tools and symbols of FLCL and uses them to good effect in its own story, not just as cheap references.
