Finally got to see inside "...the finest 18thC church in London" , St Mary le Strand. Thanks to the works to pedestrianisation part the Aldwych, the church is no longer a traffic island.
Silver dessert service designs by S.H.& D Gass of Regent Street London, exhibited at the Great Exhibition 1851, modelled from water plants @kewgardens "by permission of Sir Willian Jackson Hooker" then Director of the gardens, and Fellow @LinneanSociety.

Died #OTD 1863, Francis Boott, Fellow @LinneanSociety (1819) & @RCPhysicians (1826) & one of the 1st to discard the MD's black coat, white neckcloth, knee breeches, & black silk stockings, for the ordinary costume of the day, a blue coat with brass buttons, and yellow waistcoat.
