So Batman and Robin sit down in the giant chairs reading the giant book and boom they're dropped into Fairyland, where they immediately meet Father Time, who tells him that Enid has been captured by Gruel, the Black Witch.

Okay so Story #2! Batman and Robin are walking home one night when they notice some thieves breaking into a guy's house. They punch the thieves like they do when suddenly the homeowner runs out and, well... see below.

A criminal in league with the Joker, Queenie was also the first love interest to know Batman's double identity. She became infatuated with Bruce Wayne when he came onto The Deck, a gambling ship run by the Joker, to investigate. Later, she recognized

Joker manages to get the upper hand on Batman, but then Robin pitches Joker over the railing into the water, oops.

The Joker invades a Lighthouse to escape Batman, who follows him anyway. Man, that Lighthouse Keeper has got to be confused.

Queenie just wants to get out, but one of the other Cards is like, well I may as well kill Batman since I'm here. So she shoots him, which confuses the hell out of Batman. ... also can I note that the ears on his cowl are actually still ears, like Kane does draw ear contours.

Joker proves himself to be, well, the Joker by revealing that he has a pile of greasy rags stored for just this situation, by which I mean in case he wants to kill everyone including his henchmen, because he locks them in with Batman and the fire like the jumbo sized dick he is.

...sorry this is just funny.

Joker demands that Batman meet him alone ("the old come on game" apparently) and when he arrives, Joker is there with the other Four Cards. Joker demands that they play a poker gamed with death as the stakes, but Queenie recognizes Batman as Bruce from the cut on his chin.

...once again, a plot point is advanced via telephone call!
