Concept art for New Graphic Novel pitch thingie. Rough sketches. Still figuring them out.
Arto paper is from the Netherlands. Medium grain, and you can lift and blend easily. It's considered a budget paper, I think? But great for price. Note that I'm still learning watercolor stuff. So anyway, I'm trying to get Loop's skintone right.
Next up....Stillman & Birn Zeta. Holy crap. I like. It takes my inks AND the Holbein colors nicely, not that you can tell from my doodles, but.... Ok, definitely a yes, except they don't sell it here. Darn.
You can definitely see where the paint just....splotches. so, no. Sigh. I have so much of this paper. Sell.
🤮
I am a dragon when it comes to stationery and art supply hoards. It gets ugly.
So..color tests. This one is Holbein watercolor on so-called Elias paper, which is a locally available coated paper marketed for fountain pen users. Great for inks, awful for watercolors....the ink pools and becomes splotchy. Good thing I hate the drawing!
Thinking of getting the Castlevania Animation artbook, so I put in an order with FullyBooked. I loved the designs. Came for the Alucard, stayed for the Trevor.
Well, this comic artist forgot #PortfolioDay again! #gn #comics #graphicnovel https://t.co/k4Iz0zEbTm
Giving the rough Elric sketch a try. Breaking out a brushpen and black cheap color pencil. So far...it's fun.
