Apparently the JP side of #OnePiece fandom celebrates today as Rosi's Day because 6/4 is pronounced like his name. Here's a few older pieces - I'll try to get something new done today after work!
Have a low-energy #onepiece doodle. Some days I want to draw and just can't be bothered to do a full-on painting so here's to fanart sketches I guess
One more for #FemaleBirdDay: a question I get asked a lot is "how do you tell female Cooper's Hawks apart from males?" Key features are eye color, auriculars/"cheek" color, back color, & look at head shape - female has longer skull, male has shorter bill.
Evidently it's #NationalAnimeDay and I, uh. I've watched exactly one anime in the last 10 years. I got to #OnePiece incredibly late but I think I'm here to stay. Here's some of the fanart I have painted for it.
It's #PortfolioDay! I'm a scientific illustrator and mainly do digital paintings of birds and other #SciArt but also enjoy doing nerdy things like fanart and DnD/fantasy illustration!
Went out looking for inverts for #InverteFest yesterday and didn't get much, but the weather wasn't great. I'll have to try again today! For now, here's a rough little cicada painting, plus a recently-molted cicada I found in American Samoa a couple years ago.
Another set of paintings to kick off #InverteFest, bumble bees! B. bifarius, B. vosnesenskii, and B. melanopygus (plus bonus horizontal vos), a handful of Sierra Nevada meadow species.
I'm sorry this is the weirdest one yet. Hail king Western Tanager. I'm never putting hair on a bird again. #stircrazybirders
