I think my favorite part of this New Years 2021 official art is how much the characters it forefronts are half obscure, Classic-only characters that were never really carried forward after their debuts (except in Sonic Mania)

Another plant monster! Seeing how Mental Pitchers actually animate in Dragon Quest V really sold me on them. They're such fun early-game plant critters, even if their fondness for casting Dazzle makes them a bit frustrating to actually fight

Sharing another recolor of a base monster because I just like the more sunset-y color palette of the Fandangow variant more than the green Cactiball. I think the lighting on the in-game sprites making their shape look more cactus-y really helps these monsters look their best.
