also just made me really nostalgic for the old dungeons and drawings blog that me and @EscapeComplex used to run for many years. looking back it feels crazy just how much we used to draw for it and all the different styles i attempted!!
just writing a blurb for the fancy new reprint of Homunculus that's coming out soon (with new cover + title page!) and realised that I can't say it's a story that takes place in "the near future" anymore. its nuclear apocalypse (spoiler?) canonically takes place last october!
happy 2022! here's a panel from my upcoming graphic novel.
this year was lots of ups and downs, as with any year. once the comic's out the door i want to go back to doing lots of little looping animations in 2023. i miss doing that. thank you everybody!!!!!!!
the story also takes place against the backdrop of a nuclear holocaust that, purely by luck of a momentary goverment of peaceniks, happens to neglect britain. the source of the conflict? something about "poland and the russians". again, not comparable, but depressing nonetheless
yeah! not a ton of stuff, i just helped out with a few of the background schoolkids' fall outfits, as well as the shadowy characters in the dream sequence. i think the drawing i'm most proud of is the giraffe (not sure who did colours on this but they're LUSH) https://t.co/a4SePbAh35
is that a new cover, you ask? Yes, I answer! Those who have read the comic will probably feel a certain way at seeing this shot of Daisy surrounded by debris... 😢😢😢
the new edition will also come with some extra pages of rough sketches and early designs!
https://t.co/0FNLCPrYQ7 I'll probably be posting about this a LOT over the next few weeks, talking about the various stretch goals and plans we have. But for now all you need to know is: the Kickstarter for my new graphic novel Cuckoo is LIVE!
please consider backing it!
