just a basic little scuttly thing. i tried to animate this as quick as i could this morning on stream (it took a few hours) but i don't think i like it and I'm feeling too lazy to add stuff to it, so i'm just throwing it out into the world as it is. music is Bleed by slowdive
Seeing people talking about the diamond/pearl remakes is making me really nostalgic for when I played the originals on my DS at uni. Was the first time I got back into Pokémon after playing it as a kid. Here's some pixelly fanart of magmortar I did at the time!
looked through some old blogs for those pug sketches... darn these drawings are ~10 years old!!!!
@hamishsteele like the act of committing to the effort of painting an enormous background really forces the director (& the painter) to REALLY consider the layout, how it can be pushed or something. the old SW films are great examples of this obvs
another illustration i did for mine and @EscapeComplex's monster bestiary Dungeons & Drawings a couple of years ago! This guy is the Iron Golem, inspired a bit by dogū pottery from prehistoric japan.
you can pick up the book here: https://t.co/VJ3GZ94h8i & at all good bookstores!
i feel like some RETRO GAMING tonight so im gonna stream some n64 games on the new switch online thing. probably gonna play Lylat Wars a bit and then Sin & Punishment, which i ALWAYS wanted to play as a kid but never could find it!

as promised yesterday, here's one of the monster designs i did exclusively for our beastly bestiary Dungeons & Drawings: An Illustrated Compendium of Creatures! i love elements of cosmic horror so it was fun trying my hand at creating my own Great Old One https://t.co/VJ3GZ94h8i
