Here's a Before/After to show how the Shapekey affects the face. I mostly used it to fine tune the eye and mouth. I could fix the face without shapekeys, but this was just a fun test of the technique

I wanted to try out the Averaged Normals method on a model that has "normal" topology and I think it turned out well! I made minimal adjustments to the original topology and just averaged the normals for each zone. It took about 30 mins total

Yeah it works with extra shadows! The "zones" of this face are mapped for two tone lighting but you could create more zones and use them for darker shadows/highlights. That would have to be planned out before making the model as you would have to do the topology accordingly

I really didn't want to hand edit normals, so I came up with this method of using an ID Mask to manipulate the normals in the shader. All of my shadows snap into place whereas the Guilty Gear model has smoother transitions but it's a pretty nice effect

I'm also trying to work on a PBR based Toon shader that will include all of the usual PBR parameters, like Roughness, Normal, Metallic etc. and here's a test of my metallic material. Metallic toon shaders are really tricky but I think this looks pretty cool

Here's a few closeups of my model! I actually used the Fortnite model for the final piece as it saved me from having to do a lot of retopology!

I also love the Freestyle outlines. I just tweaked the alpha and it gives them a nice texture!

I love this Mummy design by and did my best to faithfully recreate it!

This took about 11 hours over the course of 2 days

This is how all of my models start. I grab a basemesh and start pushing and pulling it around in sculpt mode until it matches the concept. This took about 2 hours and now I'll do retopology to clean it up
