And the final three photographs are taken from my saucer, painted by Johann Friedrich Metzsch.
What a great movie ‘Wolfwalkers’ is. I particularly relish the way that #OliverCromwell meets his end! The wolves, of course, represent the Catholic population in Ireland, enduring the tyranny of the Lord Protector. A beautiful movie and I love the Romany/ mythological aspects.
One of my favourite subjects on Meissen porcelain- Miners looking for gold. One miner has the monogram AR on his hat, a reference to his master Augustus ‘the Strong’- Augustus Rex. Tea canister, c. 1750.

It is thought that #DavidRoberts may have been the last Academician of the #RoyalSociety to see J.M.W. Turner alive before his death in 1851. Roberts is best known for his paintings of the Holy Land, Syria, Idumea, Arabia, Egypt, & Nubia which would have interested #Turner.
One of the most spectacular #Meissen snuff boxes you will ever see- Tabatiere Meissen 1730, green powdered background, polychrome painting," Kauffahrtei" (harbour scenes),scenes on the lid, base and sides, Venus model inside, designed by Joachim Kändler
