@BadBronyAlarmV2 First off, I have never tried to hide my past, or pretend that I wasn't into problematic material. I got my start on /mlp/ in 2012 and for a long time that's where I thrived.
My feelings on such material has changed since the 3 to 4 years these caps were made. Check the dates.
Now what happens if you take someone drenched in /mlp/ shitposts and culture, with enough actual skill in their given trade to actually achieve crossover success?
You get a culture clash. Suddenly humor that is barely considered risque on 4chan is exposed to the wider world.
Like many creators in the fandom, he started out creating content for the /mlp/ crowd. The insular nature of 4chan meant that people who spend a lot of time there have a certain kind of humor, influenced in part by /pol/ cross-contamination. Some can hide it better than others.
