The beast on the left is "exotic", the beast on the right is not.
The exotic classification was great when it was first introduced, but the sheer variety in modern pet looks has made it mostly redundant.
A sample of the dazzling new crystal snails you'll be able to tame in Patch 10.1!
There are also model variants without the crystals, but I'll cover them later.
They've got legs. They know how to use 'em.
Probably not going to be tameable, but so many great looks. 240 possible combos, in total!
These rock mice are absolutely adorable! I wish I knew who the artist was, but they're gorgeous work.
I don't know if they'll be tameable, since their model exists in that grey area between beast and critter, but I'm going to catalog them anyway.
The moth uses 2 separate textures. 1 defines the body & wing back, and the other defines the brighter stuff, like eyes, glowing abdomen, and (in all but the stony skins) the underwings. The moths can also come with or without sparkle effects...
I've started taking model shots, but it's going to take time to get them all done.
Here are four rock vipers, each with its own rich colour!
But there's also something extra about their textures...
The "shadowflame" colours on this protodrake are quite stunning.
Would kill for a core hound with the same colours!
Datamining's going well & I'll get 10.1 beast shots up on Petopia soon.
But first I have some sad news: Deepstriders are unlikely to be tameable.
I have direct info from a designer that they tested the model, but its somewhat extreme dimensions just didn't work well as a pet.
