I finally got around to watching Nausicaä. I liked it quite a bit. Nausicaä herself was really charming, a great example of an actual strong female character.
@SirDemiface @Sparkpoodle1 @AshitaNoFrog Basically, they are a guy on a ego testosterone trip. "Out-macho the dudes" is not good writing for female characters.
Then you have characters like these, compassionate, self sacrificing, protectively emotional, determined, feminine, AND strong. Just not in a macho way.
