Late on but eh.
Dimetrodon was through the Early Permian one of the most successful genus of synapsid pelycosaurs lasting almost 20 m.y., upon this there has always been a different species in each point being in most cases the apex predator until the end.

dimetrodons aren’t related to dinosaurs at all and actually went extinct 60 million years before the first dinosaurs evolved. they are, in fact, an ancestor of mammals, including humans. these things are more human than dinosaur. this does not sit right with my soul.
