I forgot! I created a cement material underneath the marble and made a tile removal mask that, using the random mask slider in Substance, will pick tiles and remove them. Here's some shots of that:

I spent ages trying to come up with a header for my twitter! Here all are all my attempts. The first two tile very oddly, the third came out fine, and the fourth I gave up on a tiling pattern and just did an illustration.
